Jimmy Dale’s songs are as straightforward as he is. To hear him sing is to hear a straight-up, full-tilt country singer who has a rich, powerful and full-bodied voice. His hard work, charisma and down-home charm proves that he has the heart and soul of a performer.

Growing up in Sacramento, California, Jimmy was born to a tight knit family consisting of a Native American mother and Latin American father, Jimmy acquired a humble nature and respect for others at an early age. This environment influenced his commitment to make personal sacrifices and developed his strong work ethic.

Jimmy was named after one of his father’s favorite singers, “The Godfather,” soul legend James Brown. “My dad took me to see him for my tenth birthday, I was amazed by his showmanship and on stage persona and began to emulate him,” says the soft-spoken brown-eyed Jimmy Dale.

The Dale family was often treated to impromptu jam sessions, with Jimmy beating coffee cans with any household utensil he could find. Jimmy remembers taking a red satin sleeping bag and fashioning a backdrop for his stage during one of these early family concerts. Influenced by an eclectic range of his parent’s musical tastes, including; Etta James, Otis Redding and James Brown, Jimmy also listened to country and bluegrass music. He expanded his repetoires from coffee cans, to learning the drums, alto sax, tenor sax, the flute, keyboard, and is currently learning to play the guitar. He also had an interest in dance and performing in the theatre.  At the young age of eight he began performing on stage in local plays and dance productions.  After gaining confidence in his stage performance, he began developing his singing talents.

By this time, Jimmy had grown more comfortable performing for audiences other than his own family. Jimmy was invited to join a Gospel church choir.  By the time he was in his early teenage years, he was touring and singing solos throughout California and Las Vegas.  He grew to love performing and saw his vocal talents as a gift to be shared.  Although at times he still had to fight through his natural shyness, he realized his place was singing and being on stage.  Intent to improve his singing, Jimmy began taking vocal lessons from various teachers.  As he improved, he was awarded opportunities to perform at such venues as the San Diego Padres and Sacramento Kings games and the National Fencing Championships, singing the national anthem.

At the age of 21, Jimmy graduated from the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Academy while continuing to focus on music, going into the studio with songwriters and performing locally. Though in a successful career, Music City tugged at his heart and in 2003, he moved to Nashville. He arrived with the intent to take his time, study the business, network, and learn. His commitment and  approach opened doors, and helped him cultivate friendships which created opportunities infrequently offered in the competitive Music City climate.

Jimmy is driven in a measured, grounded, knowing way; confident that his life is unfolding in such a manner as if predestined to do so.  His entire family is moving to Nashville. You will often hear Jimmy say, “It’s important to have everyone I love close by. My mother and father have been such an important part of my life and career; they have always been there to encourage me. My mom has always told me that anything I ever committed to do, I would do.  I have always loved to sing and it is the best thing in the world to me, to be able to share my emotions and feelings in song with others.

Jimmy Dale is a young man who is focused and determined to make a difference in the world.
